CRIME REPORT; 02-14-11

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…

At about 6:05 P.M. last night, Officer Herd responded to a call of a disturbance at a south side establishment.  Upon arrival he contacted a 22 year old male.  The male subject was asked to leave the establishment and refused.  He was warned several more times of criminal trespass and still refused to leave.  He was placed under arrest for Criminal Trespass.  During a search of the subject Officer Herd located 4 prescription pills in the subject’s wallet and he did not have a prescription for them.  He was charged with Criminal Trespass and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

At about 10:10 P.M. last night, Officer Bryan stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of East Highway 80 for an expired registration.  Upon contacting the driver, a 39 year old male, it was found that his Texas I.D. card was suspended and he did not have a driver’s license.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While License Invalid.

Finally at about 12:10 A.M. this morning, Officer Bryan contacted a 26 year old male in the 800 block of Mulberry.  The male subject was walking down the street drinking from an open alcohol container.  After contacting this subject it was found that he had two warrants for his arrest.  He was placed under arrest and during a search; a useable amount of marijuana was located.  He was charged with the two warrants and Possession of Marijuana.

CRIME REPORT; 02-15-11

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

At about 12:05 A.M. this morning, Officer Hutchinson observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed in the 3100 block of Pine.  The vehicle was paced and was travelling 60mph in a 50mph zone.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 42 year old female appeared to be intoxicated.  She performed the field sobriety tests and failed.  After failing the field sobriety tests she threw a shiny item.  This item was recovered and was found to be a pipe used to smoke illegal narcotics.  She was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Tampering with Evidence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Finally at about 1:30 A.M. this morning, Officer Allen responded to a noise violation in the 1100 block of Musken.  Upon arrival the distinct odor of burning marijuana was smelt coming from the apartment.  Officers knocked on the door and a 17 year old female answered the door.  Inside the apartment in plain view, officers located alcohol and a useable amount of marijuana.  They also spoke with an 18 year old male who gave them a false name and date of birth.  His real name and date of birth were learned and he was issued a citation for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and was arrested on the Fail to I.D. charge.  The 17 year old female was also issued a citation for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

Crime Report; 2/16/2011

 Good Morning! Here is your police report for Wednesday 2/16/2011…

At about 8:05am yesterday morning, Officer Adlesperger stopped a car in the 1000 block of N. Danville for speeding in a school zone, 18 mph over the posted limit. Upon contacted the occupants of the car, the officer detected a strong odor of burning marijuana emanating from inside the car as well as a cloud of smoke, and he observed a pipe in the ash tray. The driver admitted that he and the passenger had been smoking marijuana and a quantity of marijuana was found, so both men, ages 28 and 24 were arrested for Class “A” Possession of Marijuana. 

Last night at about 10:34p, Officer Bryan responded to a call of a wanted person the 2900 block of Old Anson Rd. Officer Bryan initiated a traffic stopped a car matching the description given and found that a passenger in the car was wanted in multiple counties on six different warrants for charges including Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Burglary of a Building, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  This 33 year old man was arrested on these warrants and booked into the Taylor County Jail.

At about 1:45am this morning, Officer Becker was dispatched to a call of domestic violence in the 1600 block of S 3^rd. Investigation revealed that a 31 year old man and a 26 year old woman had been arguing and fighting for some time prior to calling the police. There were indications that each had assaulted the other and neither party would agree to leave the residence, so in order to prevent further violence, both of them were arrested and charged with Assault/Family Violence.

Crime Report; 2/18/2011

 Good Morning! Here is your police report for Friday 2/18/2011…

At about 8:45pm last night, Officer Ward was dispatched to a call of a shoplifter at a south side department store that is located on Southwest Drive. The information indicated that the suspect had fled the scene in a car. Store employees followed the suspect and contacted her in the 2600 block of S. Clack St.. Investigation revealed that the suspect had taken about $265.00 worth of clothing without paying for them. This person, a 31 year old female was arrested and charged with Misdemeanor Theft.

At about 10:05pm last night, Officer Collins stopped a car in the 400 block of South 4^th after observing the car leave from a suspected drug area and after the driver of the car committed multiple traffic violations. Upon contacting the driver of the car, the driver told the officer that her driver’s license was suspended. When this woman got out of her car, Officer Collins observed a quantity of crack cocaine in plain view in the car. This person, a 32 year old female was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Driving While License Invalid.

At about 3:00am this morning, Officer Paul Martinez was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 2400 block of Walnut St. Several residents of that area had called the police about a two men who were seen running in the street and being loud, and possibly attempting to tamper with some cars in the area. The men were found in a back yard and both were found to be very intoxicated, and they became belligerent and uncooperative when contacted by Officers. These brothers, ages 17 and 18 were arrested for Public Intoxication.
