CRIME REPORT; 04-08-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 4:55 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Cutbirth responded to a call of a criminal trespass at a south side establishment.  Upon arrival it was found that security officers had detained a 19 year old male who had previously been given a criminal trespass warning.  He was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass.

 

At about 5:55 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Cutbirth responded to a shoplifting call at a south side establishment.  Loss prevention personnel had detained two subjects for concealing items and leaving the store.  After further investigation, it was found that a 21 year old male and female had removed price tags from several items and placed them in a purse.  They then left the store without paying for the items.  They were arrested and charged with Removal of Writing and Theft.

 

Finally at about 1:30 A.M. this morning, officers responded to a call of a disturbance in the 600 block of Tamy Court.  Upon arrival officers contacted a 48 year old male who had assaulted his wife.  Officer tried to detain the subject and he began to resist.   After a short struggle he was placed in handcuffs and detained.  It was learned that the male subject had struck his wife on the head and then retrieved a fire arm and fired the weapon several times in close proximity to his wife and son.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Assault Family Violence and Resisting Detention.

CRIME REPORT; 04-04-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…

 

At about 7:35 P.M. last night, Officer Shriver responded to a call of an assault in the area of 500 Ruidosa.  While in the area, she located the suspect a 19 year old male.  When she tried to contact the subject he began to run from the scene.  After a short foot chase, the subject was caught and began to fight with the officer.  He was sprayed with pepper spray and taken into custody.  It was found that he had threatened his mother with a handgun prior to police arrival.  He was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault Family Violence and Evading Detention.

 

At about 10:28 P.M. last night, Officer Joeris responded to an accident call in the 1600 block of South 1st.  Upon arrival he located a 24 year old female who was the driver of the vehicle involved.  She appeared to be intoxicated and was asked to complete the Field Sobriety Tests.  During the tests she made the comment that she couldn’t do them sober.  She was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

 

Finally at about 3:45 A.M. this morning, Officer Poynor stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Plum for running a red light.  Upon contacting the driver, a 28 year old male, he was recognized as a subject who is known to carry weapons.  The officer waited for his backup to arrive and the driver, passenger and vehicle were patted down for weapons.  Under the driver’s seat the officers located a handgun.  The driver is a known felon and was placed under arrest for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  During a search incident to the arrest, the driver was also found to be in possession of Marijuana.  He was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Marijuana.

CRIME REPORT; 04-12-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…

 

At about 10:05 A.M. yesterday morning, officers of the Abilene Police Departments special operations division executed a search warrant in the 1900 block of Butternut.  A 27 year old female was found to be in possession of marijuana.  She was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

 

At about 12:42 P.M. yesterday afternoon, the Abilene Police Departments special operations division assisted Agents with the Department of Homeland Security in locating and arresting a 32 year old male who had a warrant for his arrest.  He was arrested on federal charges of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute.

 

Finally at about 2:20 A.M. this morning, Officer Valdez stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 1800 block of Hickory.  The driver, a 21 year old male, was found to have a suspended driver’s license.  He was arrested and charged with Driving While License Invalid.

CRIME REPORT; 04-13-11

 

 

 ****** There will be no audio today and I apologize for this going out late, we are having trouble with out server at the Police Department.  Thanks and hopefully all will be back to normal tomorrow.  Here is the normal written police report:

 

Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…..

 

At about 5:55 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Hall attempted to stop a vehicle in the 3000 block of Wyndrock.  The driver, a 27 year old male, refused to stop and drove several blocks before stopping in an alley.  Once he stopped, he exited the vehicle and ran on foot.  After a short foot pursuit, he was caught and placed under arrest.  Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of Cocaine and Marijuana.  He was charged with Evading Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana and two misdemeanor traffic violations.

 

At about 9:00 P.M. last night, Officer Volirakis responded to a call of a shoplifter at a south side establishment.  Upon arrival it was learned that loss prevention personnel had two subjects in custody.  A 28 year old female and a 22 year old male were both found to have taken approximately $53.00 in merchandise without paying for it.  The female did have prior arrests for theft and her charge was enhanced to a State Jail Felony Theft.  The male was charged with Theft and Removal of Writing.

 

Finally at about 2:10 A.M. this morning, Officer Hutchinson observed a 19 year old female walking in the 2400 block of Pine.  The female was stumbling in the road and upon contact the officer could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage.  She was intoxicated and stated she was walking to a specific address which was in the opposite direction.  She was placed under arrest and charged with Public Intoxication as she was a danger to herself.
