Cedar Creek Neighborhood Association

Greetings everyone!

We are having a membership drive at this time. Flyers encouraging people to join or just sign up for email updates have gone out across the neighborhood. At this time we are offering a free t shirt for new/renew members. Remember membership is per person, so if you and your spouse want a shirt you both need to pay the $6 membership fee. You can pick up your t shirt at the potluck or call me.  Even if you can't make a meeting, joining helps us keep going! We depend on your memberships and donations! I attached a photo of the tshirts and they are pretty cute.
 
Our next meeting is Sept 1st @ 6:30 at the Shining Star Fellowship Hall. This will be a potluck, so I encourage you to invite a neighbor or friend to come.  We always have great food and company.  Drinks, and dishes, and dinnerware will be provided.  If you haven't attended a meeting in a while I encourage you to come. During the upcoming year we will have potlucks and speakers who focus on our neighborhood (history, restoring your home, etc.) If you know someone who would make a good speaker please send me their contact info.  We want our meetings to be fun and informative for the neighborhood.
 
This is will also be our 'annual' meeting to elect officers. If you would like to volunteer to be an officer this upcoming year, just let me know.  If you are currently an officer and would like to continue, please let me know. Our officers handle all the 'business' of the association.
 
The other event coming up is our ANNUAL cleanup (Sept. 10th).  This is an opportunity to cleanup up your yard/alley and bring the junk for free to be disposed of.  We also try to help our neighbors in need, so if you have a church or service organization available that day to help, please let me know.  If you would like to put out flyers, let me know. :)
 
 The Association does have a trailer available for members, you just have to reserve it. (donations accepted).  If you are a new member, this trailer is available to you. 

Since we are an "adopt a spot' neighborhood this is also a great day to walk the neighborhood and just pick up trash.
 
For those who live close to South 8th. The city is going to resurface the street. This should happen in the next month. This happened because of YOU, helping to gather signatures for a petition to the city.  Also, over the past few months we have been working with Habitat to develop a playground at Friendship Park (417 Meander). This is still under discussion.

I have included current members and recent members on this email. If you do not wish to receive emails, please let me know and I'll delete you from my list. 
 
We do have a FB page and Website if you want to share information/news about the neighborhood. This is also where daily crime reports, etc. are posted to reduce emails. Please invite a neighbor and share the information about the cleanup. Remember the cleanup is for residents of our neighborhood, that includes property owners.
