Our slogan stands for more than where we are located. It stands for us. Central Meadowbrook Neighborhood Association was rebuilt in November 1999. In December 1999, we had 12 members. That number has greatly increased over the years. Our members are dedicated people and work greatly together in making our neighborhood a wonderful place to live, full of HEART.  As of January 2020 we are represented by City Council Districts 4, 5 and 8 - the only neighborhood with 3 council persons.   Our household dues are $20/year to help with the cost of renting our meeting space and supplies.

Central Meadowbrook is a neighborhood full of diversity, charm, and friendly people.  Like much of east Fort Worth, it is heavily wooded with gentle hills.  Perhaps few neighborhoods in Fort Worth have such diverse housing stock as central Meadowbrook.  The earliest homes date from the 1920s and include a mix of craftsman-style bungalows and large, stately homes, some of historic significance.  Many homes were built during the post-WWII and mid-century period.  New housing construction continued into the 1970s and 1980s, and even today a few new homes are being built on available lots.

Within the boundaries of central Meadowbrook is one of Fort Worth’s four municipal golf courses.  Meadowbrook Golf Course an 18-hole regulation facility and considered one of the top 25 municipal golf courses in Texas.  The course is busy year-round, but especially in the spring and fall.  The rolling terrain and mature trees make it an interesting and challenging course. 

Large parks within walking distance or a short drive of central Meadowbrook include Oakland Lake Park and Gateway Park, one of the largest urban parks in the nation.  Nearby Quanah Parker Park offers a direct connection to the Trinity Trails, which showcases one of the most natural stretches of the Trinity River to be found in the city.

Central Meadowbrook has an active neighborhood association, which meets monthly.  It is a great opportunity to become familiar with the various programs that make our city work and to get to know neighborhood police officers, code compliance officers, and great neighbors.

Public schools serving Central Meadowbrook are Meadowbrook Elementary School, Meadowbrook Middle School, and Eastern Hills High School.  A number of well-respected private schools also serve the area.  Texas Wesleyan University is very nearby as well.

Central Meadowbrook also has great access to the public library system.  There are six libraries within a roughly four-mile radius of central Meadowbrook, with a new library slated to open in 2020.  One of the two regional libraries in Fort Worth is a five-minute drive away.

Perhaps central Meadowbrook’s best-kept secret is its great access to the rest of the region.  Traffic permitting, DFW airport is less than 25 minutes away.  You can be parked in downtown Fort Worth in under ten minutes, where there are connections to TEXRail and the Trinity Railway Express.  AT&T Stadium and the Arlington entertainment district are accessible in fifteen minutes.  Downtown Dallas is less than thirty minutes away.
