The only problem with opening the restaurant to the public is it will start looking like the beaches.

 We really have plenty of possible patrons living right here in our community. Back in the day when there were only a 1/4 of the people living here, you would actually have to wait to get a seat and you could barely squeeze in the door at the lounge. What needs to happen is get a better menu, not a bunch of choices that I could make at home. When I go out to eat I want "restaurant" food, something different, not pork chops and meat loaf. And the fact that the Clubhouse is only open 2 nights a week isn't helping. I realize the restaurant isn't making much money and had to trim down the menu and definitely can't afford to open more nights right now, but if they pumped up that menu and had better publicity it might get back to the way it was 10 years ago. Word of mouth advertising goes a long way. Did you know that a lot of  new residents don't even know about it?

 I was at the bar and Restaurant last night and guess what was on the  , if you guessed chicken,you would be correct. just like last wed and the wed before. In last weeks board meeting the board said the restaurant lost 1000$ every week. the bar did have the ball game on with the sound turned off and no music was on at all but there was at least 8 people there at one point so it is getting busy. i hope the new board will do something to make the bar and restaurant more comfortable and friendly. the food is good and the drinks are cold but it is not a welcoming environment.

I am a new member to turtle cove since October 2008.  I am in my mid 40's.   My spouse and I are part time residence and spend most of the summers there and this is my impression.

The bar is gloomy and univiting.  I'd rather stay at home and visit with neighbors or boat to Bear Creek Marina for atmoshpere.   I am not a "partier", but I do enjoy an atmosphere that has a little up beat music, zest and color.   To be frank, I find nothing appealing about the Turtle Cove Bar.

I'd love to meet our neighbors but understand that "the bar" is the last place we'll find them.  Sounds like a problem that should be addressed to me... 

Consider putting a survey in the upcoming newsletter and see what the commuity has to say... 

As far as the forementioned concern of profits... I have a list of things that would improve the utilization of the "facilities" Turtle Cove has to offer... 

boat ramp and dock repair, bike path and trails within community, basketball court access, beach front and debris maintenance.... 

This community can be a lot better than it is without adding costs to the homeowners...

I could not have said it any better. The young people are going to be the ones to save the bar.The new company needs to be open-minded and give it a try. Forget about this unfairness. The young people have as much rights as the elderly click. After all we are the future of this community.
