Unkept yards are an eyesore but you need to cut folks some slack.....we have had a lot of rain lately and some early blooming plants have to be left alone if you expect them to come back each year, like daffodils or wild native violets....
I would be wasting my time if I waited on my elderly neighbors to ask for any help...
Ask permission first and then just do it for them. ALWAYS ASK FIRST !!
I have used the excuse that I needed to burn out all of last years gas out of the lawnmower and that was the reason I cut both their yards. No feelings hurt.

I live in the Orange zone south of Quince and I would like to show I am involved by planting orange flowers but I dont know anything that comes in orange except for Marigolds and I dont have any luck with those.....anyone have any ideas??
