Passing on this email from the Mt Moriah police station, Neighborhood Watch Coordinator -
On behalf of Colonial Acres, a big "thank you" to Officers Armour and
Day who apprehended a burglary suspect in the 4600 Block of Willow Road
last Thursday around 4:00 P.M. They observed the suspect walking down
the driveway toward the street. He was bleeding and carrying two
suitcases of tools.
According to the homeowner, the suspect had first rung the front door
bell. When no one answered, he attempted to break in a side door, but
was unsuccessful. He then went to the garage and broke out the window
cutting himself in the process.
Instead of directly calling the police, the woman who lives there and
who was indeed home, called her husband at work. He then called the
police. Fortunately, the officers were already patrolling the
neighborhood and were on the scene within seconds of receiving the
dispatch call.
Please don't hesitate to call 545-COPS to report suspicious activity,
and never hesitate to call 911 for an emergency situation.
Suspect could be responsible for additional burglaries in the area.
