Repeal Broomfield County

I agree with CCACCC....

We need to ignore John (Linda) and continue in productive discussions.

Linda provides no words of value. Only hollow babble.

John, guide me

Okay John, you have knocked down everything anyone has to say on this board, tell me, what do you want? What is your philosophy of growth? What do we need to control it.

What do I want? The truth. To break through absurd preconceptions and perverse perceptions. I would also like to know with whom I am conversing.
Growth? When the economy is doing well, then people express concerns about growth. When the economy is not doing well, then the buzz words are "we need growth." I believe it takes a long term view and commitment. I believe it requires a partnership between the state and its cities. The current rhetoric at the state capitol is just that - two bit rhetoric. Each city should be required to establish its growth boundaries. The state should take an active role in acquiring open space between cities wherever possible and on the peripheries of the Denver metro area.
In my opinion, the city that has contributed the most to urban sprawl in our area is Westminster. If you question this, take a look at a map of the north metro area and take a hard look at Westminster's city boundaries.
Second, is the Rock Creek development in Superior. This is classic urban sprawl. The ugly apartments with virtually no set backs from US 36 are part of this. Sooner or later, Superior will be a serious problem for the entire area. It is a house of cards. All those metro districts levying property taxes. No reliable water supply. When Superior's residents are without water, what are they going to do? Who are they going to ask to bail them out? Louisville? Broomfield? Westminster? The state? Who is going to pay for it. All of us, that's who. If you don't believe this, fine. Just watch and see what happens down the road.

Superior Isn't

What happened with Rock Creek is a travesty. We can't do a hell of a lot about that. What we can do is take hold of our present and provide more open space especially in Broomfield to prevent this in the future. No one from Westminister should complain about Broomfield either. They are the most environmentally unfreindly, predatory city around, second only to Superior.
