In May, a 45 year-old man was charged with letting cats run at large in Martins Ferry, Ohio, his name, address, and charge were listed in the newspaper just like the City of Columbus used to do with hookers and johns that were arrested ten to twelve years ago, when the pevailing mindset was not ''cannot act'' and ''will not act''.

Now we are comparing loose cats with hookers and johns ! Good going, lets see how far you can carry this exaggeration.

Remember this November

I hope in going to the polls this November, every homeowner remembers who did and who do not support animal responsibility and control measures, and vote against those who do not. Please demand animal responsibility and control support from your candidates this election.

Revise Legislation

We are Concerned Citizens for Indirect and Subtle Animal Abuse, and we feel your pain. While ORC 959.13 on animal abuse addresses the one in a million, CNN National Local News video clip of the day type situation, we are petitioning the Legislature to expand the definition of animal abuse to include ''indirect and subtle abuse'', a much more frequently occuring situation. We advocate the definition to include the use of animals to harass or assault others and the keeping of a number of animals that is destructive to the local environment or sets them up in situations where they can be abused or killed by others. We would also include animal abandonment and ''animal dumping'' in the definition. We further advocate the withholding of federal and state revenue shareing funds from local governments with inadequate animal responsibility and control measures. Please support us in our efforts.
