This has got to be the dumbest idea I've seen in a long time. It already takes 30 minutes to navigate from McVey to Linworth in the morning - sometimes longer. What are they trying to do. Here is my suggestion. Complete the current construction projects - don't start anything new - just finish the outstanding projects and then prioritize the remaining ones. The last straw for me was when they closed the Olentangy bike path for construction! The site of Orange Barrels in the middle of the bike path pretty much put me over the edge! STOP!! ENOUGH!!

Not Opposed

This is in response to the editorials in the neighborhood papers by John Best. Is he ever happy with any road project? He complained about 270 congestion, and he pushed until they started those improvements, and now he's fighting other road improvements because he feels that 270 is "overrun with tie-ups". Well, where was his insight about the rest of the north end when he was fighting so hard for 270 improvements?

I do not feel that Mr John Best speaks for me. The people who work for the city or for the engineering firms that formulate these projects are educated in these fields and have worked in these fields for many years. I certainly feel that they have the knowledge and experience to do their job, and as a taxpayer I must believe their recommendations. Mr Best what is your background that makes you qualified to disagree with their recommendations?

Mr Best, maybe you should have been here some 34 years ago when the Northwest section of Franklin County was being built up, I have been and I have been quite happy living here. Maybe you should stick to the neighborhood parks and swimming pools and leave the major road projects to the trained professionals!!!!!

This has to be a joke

I can't believe that the Franklin County Engineers are planning to close the Snouffer Road railroad crossing for 4 months! When there is any kind of tie-up on I-270, Snouffer Road, Hard Road, Route 161, and even Bethel Road are totally clogged with rush-hour traffic. And when a train comes through, slowing the traffic even more...I can't conceive of 4 months of rush hour traffic with one less east-west route between Worthington and Dublin just to reduce the crossing incline of the Snouffer road train crossing.

The only valid reason for closing the Snouffer Road train crossing for any length of time would be for the construction of an overpass or a tunnel.
It would be an ordeal to find alternate routes during such a construction but it would be worth it to get rid of the hold-ups in traffic on Snouffer Road caused because of the trains.

Snouffer Road Improvements

John,
I read your letter the other day and agree with you totally. As a resident of Brookside Woods, I know the frustration of having to deal with the delays (at least once a day) of trying to get across those train tracks. Whoever came up with the hairbrained idea of reducing the slope over the tracks, and not building an over/underpass at the crossing, obviously dosen't live near Snouffer. To close the road for 4 months for a bandaid repair is stupid. Build a bridge!
