Repeal Broomfield County

Posted in: Country Side
For Ron

Why are you posting your blunderbusts here? Why don't you attend a Broomfield city council meeting and say what you think of the design for the new library? If you don't have the guts, then that's your problem.
Why are you attacking Interlocken? This is one of the nicest business parks in the entire state. It provides many good paying jobs. Many of my neighbors work there. You are being narrow minded when you blame Broomfield for traffic and the loss of open space. Traffic congestion on U.S. 36 is the result of Boulder's growth policies that encourage more jobs than housing, development in Westminster, development in Louisville, and the abomination called Rock Creek in Superior.

The abomination is the Broadlands; even the council admitted the errors of lot sizes in the Broadlands, and the atrocity that is building there. Linda, this is your ward, why are you trying to divert attention to the Rock Creek when the Broadlands is the most offensive of the two developments. What created the 36 gridlock? Interlocken is the greatest contributor. Anxious to sell the land while it was "cheap" lead to the development of Interlocken; and the council is determined to make Interlocken a wealthy corporation. At build out the value of Interlocken is estimated at 1 billion dollars; without the development of Interlocken 2.
This council bows to the master; Interlocken wants a road, a business park with BOULDER COUNTY affiliations (it is true that the price we paid to Boulder county--6 million dollars--to keep the open space on our master plan; is equal to the estimated taxes that Boulder County would have received from Interlocken.
Interlocken wanted a road; NWP to connect to DIA and its second business park; the advantage of working with one government, and the ownership of that government. Broomfield raised their hand, and said we want to be owned by Interlocken. What do you want; a city/county to call your own, we are available.
BF Council members, the mayor and the city manager lied to state assembly to please their new master, lied to the state voters to please their new master, and continue the lie in the NWPHHA. Someday, you will be caught in your lies.
As someone wrote in the paper; too bad the past editor did not get to print a headline that Interlocken gives millions to the city of BF for open space, recreation, etc. Worse, our council does not have the balls to ask for it; instead they talk of new taxes for these basic community needs.
