You guys that live on Dorchester, the 200 Block of Holliswood, Whipps Bend, and from 8501 to 8819 Shelbyville Road are mssing out on the benefits of  Neighborhood Watch.   Community-spirited ladies and gentlemen have volunteered to be Block Captains and Alternates in all of the other blocks of Bellemeade and have already created Block Maps and Notification Trees to increase the security and safety in and around our homes.

"Block Watch really just organizes and extends what you are probably already doing on an informal basis. We tend to know and watch out for our closest neighbors, but a group of neighbors at one end of the block who are doing this may not know the group of neighbors at the other end of the block. Organizing a Block Watch makes this attitude of watchfulness more systematic, and provides a block map with neighbors' names and telephone numbers that can be used in case of an emergency.

Block Watch is simple to begin, and can improve the security of your neighborhood while increasing your sense of community."

Well Hello!  Does the mayor and a couple of commissioners live on Dorchester as well as some of the people for the write-in candidate that we had and you don't have a contact in the Watch?  How do you think you will feel with Shelbyhurst at your back door when it takes off?  Where is your "civic pride"  that you don't have a "Security Chief"  for your block?  

My block has a Captain who FINALLY contacted me.  She asked too many questions.

I can't believe that you people on Shelbyville Road aren't in as vulnerable as you are.  HELLO AGAIN.

I still think the list should be published.  We do not want a gestapo.

Since you said "she asked too many questions" then we aren't neighbors since my block captain is male.  That saddens me  that we aren't neighbors.
