He was our pet wolf. 3/4 wolf. He lived in our fenced in property and did not roam. He was unfortunately poisoned this past June and we had to put him down. He was a special animal, and I cherished every moment I had with him.

I live on the Harpeth River in Franklin and on my way to work traveling on Sneed Road at River Circle Farm I saw what appeared to be a Wolf. We have many, many coyote sightings where I live but they seem to have moved on lately. This could be explained if this was a Wolf because it is essentially the same area and the Wolf will run the Yotes off. The Wolf upon seeing my truck sought cover really fast, where as a Coyote many times will just stare and ramble off. This animal dwarfed a German Shepard, no way a Coyote.I have varmint hunted and taken many a Coyote and this was NOT a Yote. Keep your eyes peeled, if you ever see one in the wild, it"s spectacular.Even more rare is that I saw one in Franklin!! **************************************************************** I saw one this morning for the first time in my front yard matching this description perfectly at 13430 Sunridge Drive, Fountain Hills. My water falls and quail watering hole most certainly attracted it. The life and safety of my dog come first.*The wolf got the message that it was not welcome!* The bobcats/their scent have spooked my dog so much that she is afraid to enter the house from the garage! I have to comfort/assure her at night as would a parent to a child. |

I live just outside Monroe city limits, Union County. I went outside to smoke and saw what I thought was a deer. it was dark, about 9pm. He came up beside the barn (about 100 yds. away) and stopped maybe 6 ft. from the night light overhead about 20 ft. high.
Then he turned, I have seen wolves before and this was no doubt a wolf. Just as you said, he dwarfed a German Shepard. He was dark in color, didn't see any lighter colors accept around the legs. Much, much to big to be a coty.
I grabbed my pistol out of the truck and ran toward the barn. I had seen him go behind the barn. When I got there I could hear the weeds and bushes where he was running. I shot out into the field and that was it.
We have chickens, horses, yard cats and dogs. I'm concerned there are more and they will be back! I've gotten used to the cotys, but this is a whole new ball game! |
