support repeal
I support the repeal measure of Broomfield. It was the entire process that is alarming. What I understand, and correct me if I am wrong, these city officials presented themselves as citizens and then proceeded to lie to the senate stating the Broomfield Citizens voted in favor of the county? From what I have read, they only voted on the study. This is criminal to present this issue before the senate when infact the residents did not vote for it. How could any citizen of Broomfield support the City/County issue? It seems to be starting off shady already.

BBW I have a favor to ask.......
I have an idea that I hope you might be interested in.
This could be your opportunity to really
prove to CVELG that there is true "citizen" ( not acting citizens ) support and involment for your county.
KNUS 710 AM Radio show has contacted CVELG, and has invited us to discuss
our repeal action. The producer told us that Broomfield officals have been contacted to participate in our discusion, but BF Officials have declined the invitation.
Since you are claiming NOT to be an official and that YOU are a "citizen"
with a passion for your county,
how about you and another one of your "citizen" friends get together and we could do this show together??
I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for both of us -- don't you think???
I'd love CVELG to debate this issue with a couple of "real citizens".
FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR COUNTY, give up your anonymity and join our debate.
I can get it set up soon........
Let me know.
By the way, why do you think BF Officials have declined the debate??

City funds were expended
Your statement is blatently incorrect. Consider:
1. On 2/24/98, city staff was directed to prepare ammendment for the ballot - was this free?
2. Paulson and Associates was retained by the city to represent them in the pursuit of a County - was this free?
3. At one time, fliers advertising where to send contributions for CBLG were distributed in City employee paychecks - highly questionable!
4. Only 2 or 3 days before the election the City Bulletin was distributed to all homes in Broomfield - it was a clear advertisement for Ref. C and even mis-quoted the wording of the 1996 advisory question (using the word "pursue" rather than "consider") - was this also free?
There are many other examples, but this should be enough -- in fact, it is more than enough!

to Joan
Thank you Joan. We are sure CVELG greatly appreciates your support.
If you don't already know the areas where petitions will be available this weekend, please e-mail Chris at CPCOVOTERS@aol.com.
All CVELG asks is the voters are given the opportunity to make a more informed choice.
