To BBW
Perhaps an example of what happens when others tread into the privatation of government as defined by your "streamlined government"; is the current tactics in the mayoral race. (If anyone else is reading this post, go to Broomfieldnews.com and read about the nasty mayoral race--make you own decision about the behavior of these two "leaders". This is a prime example of one trying to discredit the other through revengeful tactics. All legal; but ethical? Do you want to support either of these candidates for mayor?
I don't. Too bad this wasn't made public sooner; we could have had a write-in campaign.
One has to wonder if this is a mild public display of what happens to those who disagree with the supposed leaders of this community. There are stories of personal intimations all over town; of course these people publicly disagreed with the "leaders".
BBW, I think it is best that CCACCC not disclose where they live; who knows, they could be in Vail. The important thing here, is not to classify a group of people by their address; but to have fair and honest discussion.
I have been respectful of your argument; and no doubt about it; you are angry at CVLEG. However, "strong-arm" tactics belong to the Mafia, and there is no reason to lower yourself to this kind of approach. You are an intelligent, informed participant on this board and we all enjoy conversing with you. You have been generous in answering questions; and we have attempted to be generous in return.
On both sides; there has been skirting of the issue of direct response, especially between you and CCACCC. BBW, I have to tell you I worked hard to find the constitutional dictionary on the net; and you didn't even acknowledge it. I was disappointed. That's ok; but we did so well with definitions before; both attempting to work within the acceptable context.
I do have to bring up this point; BBW, your constant reminder of 62% voted yes. That means that 38% would have voted yes for CVLEG. In terms of this; CVLEG has to win only 13% of the 62% who voted yes; assuming all things remain equal. In reality, it is far too soon to be playing a numbers game; both the 62 and 38 are old numbers; and many concrete discussions will be held between now and one year from now.
The value of numbers right before the election is in the "undecided"; for they have the power of being the decision-makers.
Just a note; the election platform is non-partisan on this issue.
