To 5 C's and an A
I am not an elected official. I am a Broomfield citizen who worked on the city/county campaign. I was not paid anything. I doubt that you are my neighbor because my neighbors also worked on the city/county campaign - none of whom are elected officials. To say that only a few Broomfield citizens worked on the campaign is a misnomer. We went across the state to speak in favor of the constitutional amendment. We wanted our elected officials to testify at the state's hearings and they did so. On weekends, we went to Ft. Collins, Greeley, Pueblo, Colo. Springs, Grand Junction, Montrose, etc.
Our elected officials most certainly helped lead the effort and I am proud of their efforts. Your perception about Broomfield's overall effort is wrong.
You and CVELG say this city/county amendment deserves another look. Says who other than some of you who did not like Broomfield's jail decision. You can't idenify one other impact on you because there are none.
I have told you why I am opposed to your repeal efforts. Afraid something will come out? That's nonsense. I am opposed because you are a non-Broomfield resident who is working against the expressed will of the Broomfield voters. I am also opposed because I want to see Broomfield be able to focus on the complex task of becoming a combined city and county and not have to fight a repeal based on petty and parochial reasons. If you can't accept that, so be it.
I would like to know where you live because it would help give me a perspective of your perceptions, especially if you live in Superior.
