Broomfield Citizens

I would love to hear from more Broomfield citizens on the topic of Repeal. To date, I have talked to 10 or 12 citizens who all support what we are doing. They've said things like "I am so proud of you guys" and "I commend you for what your are doing". And other CVELG members have talked to other Broomfield citizens and have experienced the same.

If there are citizens that feel the opposite, I'd like to hear from them as well. And, of course, I don't mean I want them yelling in my face - I do mean I'd like to hear what they think about becoming a county.

In the next week I intend to put bulletins up in Broomfield describing our petition drive and how interested persons can help. Maybe I should also solicit thoughts from opposing views.

The bad thing (and good thing) with this discussion board is that we don't know who we are talking to. BBW, Oliver, Margaret, etc. etc. could all be one person; or they could be council member. We don't actually know that they represent the citizens at large. I like their input no matter who they are, but I'm not necessarily convinced they reflect what most Broomfield citizens think.

One final point: It's not like we in Westminster, Jefferson County don't have a right to care about this issue. We ARE affected by it. Our county is giving up tax revenue. Open space land to the West of our neighborhood is being developed because of the county formation. We had EVERY right to vote on this issue a year ago, and we have EVERY right to go forth as we are now. We are not unaffected outsiders.

There is no double standard here. Your head is in the clouds.

But really, keep spewing your rhetoric. The voters will see right through it.

The end does not justify the crooked means.

And why did you not answer the questions? We will pose them again.

Why is it a problem for you that state voters will take another look at the county issue?

And tell us the citizen led group in Broomfield that is going to fight the repeal. Citizens other than elected Broomfield officials and their family members.

I'm curious though, how much will BF taxes go up when you do become a county?? I have some friends that live there and they are already paying high taxes and they are afraid if BF does become a county they will go up more and not be able to afford to live there anymore. Sounds like BF CC is looking out for the citizens once again!
