No room for Benedict Arnold here; but definitely room for Abe Lincoln, government of, for, and by the people.
Sorry, it read that way..I did not mean to indicate that at all. Truly, I never meant it to be Benedict!! WW, I want you to run out of bricks building that house of progress. How is it?
This may have been stated before by Adrian (I think) but elected officials are to be the voice "of the electorate"; not the voice telling the electorate how something is going to happen. As we know in Broomfield; this has not been a voice "of the people"; but more dictorial; if the people want to be involved; they must start a petition. Trying to work through committee without council is a reason to drop the committee; trying to work through individual council persons is seldom successful; as they have to argue with other council members. As is happening in Ward one; a neighborhood group has formed to bring attention to simple neighborhood maintenance matters. Single council members could not convince their fellow members.
