To WW
No need for apology; it was the way I wrote it. I have no doubt where your loyalties are; and I don't think anyone has any questions as to who is on the side of whom. Someday, I will meet all of you; someday but not now. In the meantime; I will try to contribute useful information for CVLEG.

For WW
It's true that I respect you. This does not mean that we agree with one another on this matter. As a matter of fact, we have had some pretty good debates. I have seen words of wisdom come from you on many different subjects. Hopefully, there have been a few from me.
But, beware of the Wolf Man. I am on the prowl to convince everyone I can that CVELG is very wrong about the city/county.

For Adrian
Regarding benefits from the city/county for citizens, I'm not interested in playing games. Benefits were listed by major category in response to your questions. Your response provided some examples of what you would consider to be tangible benefits within a few of the categories. I am interested in the forest. You seem to want to dwell on a few trees. Granted, it is easier to comprehend a few trees because trees seem to be more tangible than an entire forest.
Even the ideas of "tangible benefits" that you outlined will not be possible without the city/county structure of local gov't. I believe you listed the examples you did because you believe these would be good things. How often have you seen existing county gov'ts do these things? What true opportunities are there? If you lived in a city situated in four counties, what guarantee would there be that each of the counties would provide these "tangible benefits" for all of the citizens of your city? If you lived in a city that was not receiving its fair share of services from county governments, how would you feel about that? If you had made concerted efforts to try and correct that situation, but saw no real changes, what would you do about it? For, example, were you aware of the fact that Boulder County has county annex facilites in Lafayette, Longmont, and Louisville, but has never had any in Broomfield and has no plans to do so? Are you aware of the fact that no one from Broomfield has ever been elected to the Boulder County Commissioners? It will, indeed, be a most tangible benefit of the city/county for citizens to be able to determine policies for their community. You see, Adrian, the right to determine policies is what the city/county is all about. Without that most important tangible benefit, no other "tangible benefits" would even be possible.

HELP IS NEEDED
We all know that maintaining the energy and intensity needed to succeed in an amendment drive is both emotionally, physically, and financially draining. Any effort such as this requires the influx of new people; new ideas, and new energy to support the core group. For the many who follow this board out of curiosity or support; please, it is time to come forward. We all know that CVLEG needs at least 100,000 signatures to succeed in this effort. That is comparable to 20,000 signatures a month. If you can help through petitions in your workplace, neighborhood, clubs, or associations; contact the address below. Additionally; financial resources are always a need. Comparative to Broomfield's efforts last year; there is a need to raise at least $300,000 to make this a successful campaign. True, it is a daunting number; but donations from $1 to whatever limit are more than welcome.
Many of us cheer CVLEG for their efforts; but the hard fact is these people can only stretch so far and still maintain a quality of life inclusive of basic family needs. To contact CVLEG; please use the references below; someone will respond to you. All will receive responses. If you are an experienced campaign manager or strong public relations and marketing expert; please step forward.
A response of several hundred people is extremely welcome. Let CVLEG know how to find you; and you will be found.
