The Evergreen Park Estates Homeowners Association (EPEHOA) will hold its semiannual meeting and potluck supper next Thursday, February 26. The potluck dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the general meeting begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 to prepare food and tables at the church. The event will take place at the Church of the Hills, 28628 Buffalo Park Road just west of the stoplight at Highway 73.
Please bring food to share! If you plan to bring a main dish, please call Ruth Petrick at 674-3092 so we know about how much food we will have.
Jim Peterson from the Bear Mountain Homeowners Association will give a presentation at the beginning of the meeting. Peterson lives in a wells-and-septic community like ours and has decades of experience working with Colorado water laws and homeowners associations.
Recently, Peterson successfully led his association to resolve a legal dispute with a well-known Evergreen real estate developer, Ron Lewis. Before the settlement, Lewis intended to increase the density of wells and septic tanks on Bear Mountain. Peterson was able to galvanize enough support in the community to stop the project.
At Thursday’s meeting, Peterson will talk to us about the case. He will draw from his many years of experience with water issues in the Front Range Foothills to ask about how much development is sustainable. And for those interested in plumbing minutia, Jim will answer questions about living with composting toilets.
Just about all of the positions on the EPEHOA Board of Directors and Covenants Committee are open. At the meeting, there will be an election to fill open positions for two-year terms on the EPEHOA Board of Directors and on the EPEHOA Covenants Committee:
- President
- First Vice President
- Second Vice President
- Treasurer
Please Bring $50 for 2009 Dues
You must have paid your dues in order to vote in the election for the board or to serve on the board. Please bring your checkbook to the meeting. Any landowner can vote for members of the EPEHOA Covenants Committee.
