In case you are interested, Forest Pond has a unique blend. There have been drive by shootings, crime galore, vandalism....and then the board spends all of their time running around picking on the regular folks for minor issues. I guess they are too afraid to tackle the REAL problems and pick on the nice folks in the neighborhood. I think they may forget that the neighborhood is a crime haven, gang symbols painted around etc. So if you want to live in a neighborhood where police helicopters and search teams are there a lot and have a delusional board of directors who are a bunch of Myers Park "wanna be's" then this neighborhood is for you. The HOA board will nitpick every detail of your home, including when you need to fertilize you lawn, what color you can paint your door, Make sure you never have a speck of rust on your mailbox, never plant a tree unless it is "board approved" The poor bored Board members tour the neighborhood daily looking for anything that is "unauthorized" such as if you want to have a new deck built without submitting your plans for them to review for months. But they turn a blind eye to the crime, gang activity and numerous REAL problems. Enjoy living there. You can get all the benefits of nosy intrusive neighbors with an HOA board that pretends they are high brow and nitpick every detail like they living in a million dollar home development, plus you also get all the benefits of gang related crime activity and decreasing value in your home. Just my opinion.
