No, I am not the one screaming and yelling. I am the one shaking my head and trying to figure out what the big deal is. Do you honestly think the by-laws are that difficult to follow? They are pretty standard. Pay $50 a year and keep the outside of your home up. It can't get any easier than that!
Do you really want a purple house next door to you? That's what the HOA is here for. It is here to ensure us that things like that won't happen. Nothing more, nothing less! In no way is it here to boss you around and tell you what to do. If so, no one would have voted for it.
I have talked to several realtors, and yes, an HOA does aide in the sell of your home. I know now, since all of this mess has been going on, that I will never buy in a subdivision that doesn't have one. As far as purchasing in this subdivision, no, I wouldn't buy in here. The reason for that is because of the way the subdivision is starting to look. I have been here six years. I was hoping to stay in this home for many years, but now I'm afraid that I might have to move in the next couple of years because of the lack of upkeep. It took the subdivision I grew up in 35 years before it went down. It's a shame that this one is going down in ten years.
