The Greenridge Board announced in the newsletter that went out with the yearly statements that they would continue enforcing regular deed restrictions such as Yards being mowed, etc as always but that things that could pertain to storm damage from Hurricane Ike such as roofs/fences needing repair and other things would not receive letters for those type problems until after April 1, 2009 giving those homeowners who are having to 'fight' with their insurance companies or who might be short on cash time to recover.
There is a problem in Greenridge with heavy trash. As you know the City of Houston announced it was changing it's schedule for Heavy trash pick up starting last Sept.2008. Then due to Hurricane Ike the new schedule wasn't implemented until Jan. 2009. During that time between Sept. and Jan. the city did it's best to remove the debris left from Ike as well as the regular heavy trash that accumulates. In January however the city was supposed to pick up tree limbs and leaves which it failed to do in many places around Greenridge. Many homeowners called 311 and told them that their heavy trash was skipped and got a form to fill out and the city sent a truck out to pick up that one particular homeowners heavy trash. Some moved their trash to their side or back yards until the next pick up and the majority left the pile right where it was since, as THEY say, "it is not my fault heavy trash failed to pick it up". Since there was still trash out, others decided they could go ahead and put their trash out too, compounding the problem.
The Board and Deed Restriction Committee are doing their best but there is only so much a committee of 4 can do to keep up with 1189 homes. Would you like to volunteer for this committee? They would welcome any and all help.
As far as kids writing graffiti on our fences and things there are things homeowners can do.
1. If you see someone putting graffiti on something call the police.
2. As soon as graffiti appears on your fence or property paint or wash it off.
Kids doing the painting are looking for "bill boards" to get their messages out
to others. If it isn't up long enough to get their message out they look for
other spots to paint.
The entrance to West Rd was demolished on Sunday night Jan 17th. Yes, something needs to be done.
The next homeowners meeting will be March 3rd as listed on the calendar on this website. Board members are going to be voted on. Why don't you run for the board?
