Dennis, We've lived here for 10 yrs in June. We were NEVER " welcomed, and have received notices of the $30 owed only twice in those 10 years. We've paid our dues every year. But, not sure we will this year. The Assoc. seems to only be for the "Beautification" of our entrances, etc. Helps in no way with enforcing the beautification of home to home. Now I don't mean to accuse or be on one person of the Assoc. just that when the Assoc. was formed, why no plans of being able to enforce simple things of  clean yards, trash, blocked mail boxes, etc. This is our reasons of considering saleing our home.Again as for the $30 per year, be more then happy to continue paying our's, IF non- payers would pay.

Thank you all for your responses. I plan to attend the meeting next week. Perhaps there should be a discussion about possible alternatives if people are unable or unwilling to pay dues or if dues collected are not enough to pay old or current bills. I look forward to meeting you all.

Neigh:  Sorry you and other people were not welcomed to the neighborhood.  I also would like to clarify your statement about being here since 2001 and only received dues notices twice since then.  The facts are that dues notices were sent out: 2003, 2004, 2005,2006,2009 and 2011.  Late notices were also sent out during that time to those in arrears.  The Assoc. (which includes you as a homeowner) is concerned about the appearance of our entrances because that is what everyone sees coming into the community.  Do you think anyone would be interested in living here if they were unkempt??  Unfortunately, since there are some homeowners that feel they should not have to pay their fair share, there is not money to do a lot more.  Liens were even filed against 13 homeowners in 2004.  That also costs money!  As far as enforcing home to home, that also has been done by trustees (when there has been any) and can also be done by you.   If you come to the meeting you can see all the letters, phone calls, etc. that were done to address these issues.   I will have all the paperwork etc. available to all at the meeting for their inspection.
