Hamilton Highlands Subdivision

I am wondering if we still have a block watch and if any part of our dues are going towards it? Its kind of irritating to me to get on here and to see people so irate about our detention area and to want to set up cameras to stop the littering and what not when we could be using this money on putting a stop to all of the crimes going on in our neighborhood. Someone actually commented on the detention area saying our neghborhood is starting to "look like Corr road".. and i find myswelf agreeing with her, not because of the littering and the appearance of our neighborhood, but because of the crime rates.. might as well be living off of livingston avenue! as a victim of MULTIPLE break ins, i Just wish this neighborhood would come together and stop the crime and put the theives behind bars, instead of putting so much effort into the minor problems, such as trash in between houses and what not! Sorry but i feel as though i am spending a lot more money on my house payment than someone who lives in the projects, so i dont feel like i should feel like i live on parsons and be afraid to walk in my front door everyday!!!

 I totally agree with all you wrote.... But, we DO need be concerned  with the "common" conditions of our community. Unkept neighborhoods attract crime. Im not concerned so much with the detention area either, but Iam with again, each occupant's "outside" appearences of property. Im living on a street that have loads of children on it. And hearing there may be drug selling on or in our community makes me ill. Also, I don't know if there's a blockwatch, but I do know We are constantly watching activity in neighborhood. I got a little "happy" from a gentleman's reply on here in March, thinking that alot of "shady" activities would be noticed. But, since. there seems to be a little more things going on that's not 100% legal. There's a street in here that seems to have a "mechanic's Garage" starting again this spring. Which brings into our neighborhood, all kinds of "visitors" or "customers". And also noise, and MORE trash. Not to mention traffic ALL hours. Im not sure how to stop theives, breakins, but know commercial activities, trashy  neighborhood,  traffic sometimes lines the street with " vistors" or people that stay 10/15mins, can't be a GOOD thing. Ive seen vehicals slow down viewing inside our garages, etc.

 I understand that we need to keep up with the appearance of our neighborhood, but I dont think its our appearance thats attracting criminals. I know for a fact of 2 young men who are druggies and theives and LIVE in our neighborhood with their parents. It's not that we have horrible people moving in our neighborhoods, its that the parents dont get their kids under control! I can guarantee that 95% of the break-ins have not been outsiders, but young punks who live right here in our neighborhood. The policeman comepletely agrees with me. And if people are "constantly" watching the neighborhood im not sure how my door got kicked in at 2:00 in the afternoon on a Saturday?.. I know that with all of the crimes that are happening, that someone has had to have seen something! I mean for heaven's sake, someone backed a truck into my back yard and loaded up my television...nobody saw that? Sorry it's just frustrating and aggervating feeling like my neighbors are more worried about the APPEARANCE of our neighborhood, rather than the SAFETY of it...

   Then Id say the very fact you said," cops agree the theives are people in neighborhood". Then why don't the cops patrol more & bust them?  I think people are afraid to call cops, if see something in fear no help from cops. I dont have the answers. IF Id see a truck in a back yard.... and I knew owners weren't home, yes Id call police. Do I call on suspecious activity on homes near me? No. You do call, you're told no proof. So, as I said have no answers.
