Boil Water Advisory???

Hello, I am concerned about the lack of information provided to WP residents during this recent Westport Road water main break. Several times on Friday and Saturday, I called the Louisville Water Company to ask if there was a water safety issue. I was repeatedly told 'no.' Today, my daughter came home from school at Walden and told me that they were all given bottles of water and told not to use the water fountains, etc. I thus called the H2O company again. This time I was informed that Woodlawn Park was, indeed, under a boil water advisory, although no problems were anticipated. I asked how we were to know this since no info is posted on their website. The woman on the phone said that either we were to have been given info by our community, door-to-door, or that a sign was to be posted at all entrances to the development. Well, to the best of my knowledge, none of these things occurred. So, this seems rather confusing and potentially unsafe. Do we have provisions set up for a potential issue like this? Shouldn't we have been informed, en masse, as a community? Why did the school know and we didn't? Given all the upcoming construction work which will be adjacent to our living space, the potential for other incidents seems large. How are we to cope? And who is responsible for informing us? Thanks.

As of yesterday, around 6pm, they had not lifted the advisory. There was work still being done on Westport at that time, near the tracks by Willis Klein. I will call back today to inquire. Again, though, we should be informed without having to repeatedly call.

I did call the Water Company about the low water pressure on the day that the water main work was being done.  I was only advised that there was work being done to fix the problem, but at know time was I told that our water should be boiled.

Normally we will hear something on the radio about a water advisory, but I did not hear anything.
