The Heatherbrae Neighborhood Association (HNA)was established in the early 90's through a Revitalization Project of the City of Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department(NSD).
HNA has become a City registered, 501(c)3 non-profit, incorporated organization. Although membership has topped 200, right now HNA has become a much smaller group who are still very active in community and neighborhood activities.
HNA has been and still is involved in the following activities
-Graffiti abatement
-Organizing clean-ups
-Arranging for GAIN events
-Co-sponsoring grants
-Naming homes "Property of the Month"
-Publishing and distributing a newsletter
-Participating in the Phoenix Neighborhood Patrol
-Actively involved with the Maryvale Blockwatch
Association and Maryvale Revitalization
Corporation
-Partnering with the Amigo Literacy Center
-Fund-raising events to help neighbors in
financial need
-Arranging annual Community Family Picnics
-Working with the City of Phoenix and other local
and national groups in the renovation of our
local park
-Coordinating educational programs with the local
schools
