Debbie...

Obviously, you have nothing constructive to contribute other than to make a joke out of a collective group of people who volunteer over and over to try to implement change in this neighborhood for the benefit of all of us.

Maybe you should just spend your time trying to figure out how to navigate a traffic circle--which is hardly rocket science---and keep your useless, negative opinion on us, ''...anti-CVS'ers who can only think about 'me, me, me''', to yourself.

Apparently, you do express concern for the 'real people who live in the neighborhood'....so, who are these 'real people'? Are they the little people in your head who keep you awake at night, or your neighbors throughout Old Northeast...even us complainers on 9th Ave?
Dear Traffic Committee

Dear Traffic committee:

Please do not spend too much time on the ''CVS traffic calming plan''. Again, it sounds as if a few vocal complainers are getting all this organization's attention!

How about addressing issues that effect more than 9th Ave in 2002!

Please Come to the Meeting

The Traffic Committee is interested and committed to in all issues which affect traffic in our neighborhood. However, if neighbors do not make specific issues known to us and participate in the committee, it is difficult for us to know what these issues are. The beauty of a volunteer organization like Northshore is that everyone has an equal opportunity to volunteer and focus the group's efforts on their issues of concern. Please come to the meeting or, if you are unable to attend, call me at 896-2237 with specific information on your concerns.

Well said, Julie...

Thank you Julie, for your insiteful and thoughtful response. Below, is not directed to you, but an overview of what I've experienced since moving here.

As a resident of 9th Ave. and an NSNA member, myself and my neighbors are consistently irritated by the NSNA members who live ''North'' of 9th and their very unsupportive views of our issues (such as the prior poster).

If this traffic issue were occuring on 18th Ave., I'd bet it would've been solved by now.

As an example, my mind wanders back to the gentleman who only came to an NSNA meeting to make sure the Goodwill ACLF home didn't end up on ''HIS'' street. ''It should be on 9th Ave...where it belongs.'' Frankly, I'm appalled and disgusted at the absolute arrogance I've seen....

But, since there is STILL a consistent view by the ''rest'' of Old N.E., that we residents on 9th Ave. are still a part of the ''Hood'', and therefore, we should have to put up with heavy traffic, people not adhering to speed limits or stop signs, and all the ACLF homes should be on our street. I am starting to feel like I live off of U.S. 19 due to the heavy traffic conditions. I guess I could move,...but, why should I have to just because the rest of the neighborhood thinks 9th residents should just ''shut up''?

Well, 9th Ave. is actually the oldest part of Old Northeast. Also, many improvements to this street have taken place over the last several years.

Frankly, I resent the attitudes that I've encountered since becoming involved in this association. It is woefully apparent that the vocal 'majority' who do live ''North'' of 9th, couldn't give a damn about our property, views or even our quality of life.

However, I will remain involved, because if I don't....I may end up with a Walmart next to my house because some one on 20th Ave. thinks it'd be convenient for them....and, what do I know? I'm just a ''9th Avenue Complainer''....who, by the way, also pays taxes and votes, just like my 9th Avenue neighbors.
