Housekeeping Chores

Posted in: Historic Old Northeast
1. A few days ago I asked Susan R. to contact Rob Wertz about the status and completion dates of the National Historic District Maps for North Shore. Have not heard a word. Anyone out there know anything? If so please write in. Susan, are you having any luck?

(Rest assured that if I go into the next board meeting without any new and substantive information it will be a lively board meeting to say the least.)

And just for the record, and in case anyone out there cares, I already have another computor expert who is more than willing to take the maps off of Robs shoulders and complete them for the neighborhood. Sooooo, there should not be any complaints from anyone. Rob does'nt have to be overworked. North Shore will finish the maps and satisfy its committment it made to the city and the Mayor last summer and North Shore Neighborhood benefits from having the application submitted and reviewed. Who among us could complain about this resolution to a sticky situation?

2. On July 8th, ''Anonymous'' wrote in and asked if North Shore ever received the matching funds from the National Trust. This person never got a straight answer. Does anyone out there know the answer? If you do, please write in.

3. Does anyone know if any of the $2,500 from the North Shore half of the matching funds has been spent on the architect John Parks? If so how much?

4. This posting is for ''Anonymous'' dated July 7th. (The issue of this posting dealt with whether or not I nominated Nadine Smith to be on the board.) The answer is no I did not. Other board members during general conversation on whether to throw me out or not stated that two vacancies existed on the board. Greg Burton's team of experts had Susan Ribillot there sitting right next to me waiting in the wings to be nominated and placed on the board at the appointed time. Nadine simply volunteered at the same time and attempted to take advantage of the opportunity. It was'nt learned until about five minutes later that she only owned property in North Shore and did not live in North Shore. Thus, she could not be on the board. End of story.

Its late, will finish these housekeeping chores tomorrow. Good Night!

Steve, I haven't vsited the website for days, so if by ''I asked Susan Rebillot to contact Rob Wertz'', you mean you posted your request on the website, I didn't receive your request. If you wish to make a request of me, contact me directly by telephone, please, 550-8748. In addition, no one ''had'' me ''waiting in the wings sitting right next'' to you at the board meeting at which I was elected. I attended that meeting because I had become concerns about what I perceived to be conflicts within the board that caused me concern about representation, and I wanted to see for myself how the board operated. It clearly was not a typical board meeting but certainly illuminated some of the problems with the board. I sat in the background, not next to you at the table. I had been asked whether I would consider serving on the board by people who had seen some of my postings on the website, and I said that I would consider it. I sat next to you after I was elected. I remember feeling quite surprised by my election and asked ''Don't you all want to know anything about me?'' to which Lane Lastinger replied, ''We know about you from the website.'' If you or anyone believed there was something unacceptable about my nomination, you had an opportunity to question me or vote in opposition. You didn't. The questions that you have asked in this posting were discussed at the last board meeting--you were absent due to vacation--perhaps the constructive thing to do would be to call fellow board members and ask for the information or to ask at the next board meeting. Rob Wertz announced at the July membership meeting that the maps were complete and ready to turn over to you. You reportedly were on vacation. Your attempts to raise mistrust and suspiciousness or criticisms of fellow board members or association members by presenting inaccurate and partial information is no different than the bad treatment you've experienced by others.

Yes Susan you are correct on the seating arrangements during the June Board Meeting. (The one where the majority of the sitting board was controlled by Stop CVS'ers.) My most humble apologies for the error on where you sat.

As for asking you indepth questions about your ablity to serve on the board it seemed pointless at the time since I knew that you had been deeply engrossed in the Stop CVS movement. Why ask? If the majority of the board (Stop CVS'ers) wanted you on the board, no amount of questioning by me was going to make any difference. You, Jackie G. and Gemma O. were all there to watch me get fried. (Gemma even stood up and made as many pathetic remarks as she could about me. All of them found not to be true in the end. Not even her husband could shut her up.) Well, my getting fried that evening did'nt turn out that way. I had a few people there who had the answers and the truth. After the meeting Jackie G. and Greg Burton went outside to chat. They were not very happy with the results of the meeting. Ole President Steve slipped right through the nice little noose prepared by Greg, and Jim and Will and Carl and Gemma and Jackie and Arlene.

But I digress.

Since you are back among us, by the way welcome back, could I impose upon you to call Rob to deliver the Maps to Lane Lastinger, Tom Hennesey, Linda Beaman, Tern van der Veen or maybe even to you. Anyone of these folks will be glad to deliver the maps to me and this way we can keep everything nice. Just trying to not make Rob feel uncomfortable.

As soon as I get the Maps they will be in the Mayors hands within twenty four hours (keeping in mind that he is in town, etc.).

Now Susan, you need to go back and re-read my previous posting. I made nice talk. I mentioned that I thought Rob was my friend of three years plus. It was not I that was supporting an effort to remove him. He was supporting and watching and partying over my expulsion not the other way around. I never had a bad thought towards Rob until I saw him sitting there at the Specially called board meeting. Not only was he not friendly towards me he was non-communicative, sat there and watched me go down and offered no support or symathy after I was voted out.

Now I ask you, I'm spreading mistrust. I'm creating suspiciousness. Get real!

Susan, think of me and the folks who are joining me daily as a big Mac truck coming down the road and the Stop CVS'ers as love bugs on the wind shield of life. That is their future.

Soon I will be posting what we are planning and how it all will unfold. Unlike the Stop CVS'ers we will tell all of North Shore what we are going to do before we do it. Quite a novel approach. Don't you agree?
