Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association

last night's meeting

Posted in: Historic Old Northeast
the board

make no mistake, the board will vote him out because they are sick about what's been going on the last couple months and they know that the members want it

he can pull all his tricks out of the bag like getting the Nadine woman
to go door to door for him again and then hide behind her skirts but the people who saw what he did last night will never ever tolerate behavior like that again

he knows that he will lose all the members that were there last night and all the board in a big resignation if he doesn't resign

Decorum

For good reason, emotions were high for all parties Monday night and it wasn't the calmest meeting I've ever attended. We will disagree on major and minor points but we have to agree to remain civil and orderly.

I appreciate those at the meeting who knew and followed rules of order. I hope future meetings are conducted with a better understanding of and adherance to procedure (Roberts Rules) by all parties.

Using the link below, I just reviewed the rules and now better understand the point I tried to make in the meeting. To help educate our membership, I asked Claude to post the link to our site. In addition to procedure, the Rules highly promote decorum and civility.

Looking for change!!

I have been a member of several organizations and a leader of one. Thinking back to the reasons why I joined these organzations in the first place brings me back to a single reason, FUN!!! In some cases I left these same organizations when they no longer were fun. Once you get your members excited and enjoyng what they do, I think you will begin to see many more volunteers. Yes!! Steve Lange has done a lot of painful work for this neighborhood and it has been painful for all, but imagine how many more people will get involved in this association if we eliminate the attitude that is constantly on display by our president. When I saw Steve Lange the first time, he was working outside on some public landscaping by himself. What a good person to be doing this, but then I wondered why was he the only person there. That question has been answered for me. We need to go back to basics and define as a community what we want to happen in a association like ours. If we want positive things to happen in this neighborhood, we must play the example. Looking forward to a positive future in the Old Northeast.

great observation

You are right on target. Many members have wanted to participate in the landscaping project, but since Mr. Lange was heading the group, most people opted to bow out. He needs to see the writing on the wall and gracefully bow out himself.
