Re: Removal of Steve Lange as President of the NSNA

I have lived in the NS neighborhood for 26 years and am a former member of the board. As such I have observed Mr. Lange?’s shenanigans since he came into the neighborhood. He is totally self-
serving and a bullying boor. He forgets that he represents the NSNA, not his personal agenda. When members are not allowed to speak at a general meeting of the membership, why have a
membership. It is time to introduce new blood into the NSNA. There have been many former members who at one time were excited about joining NSNA, becoming involved, but were turned
off by Mr. Lange and eventually left the membership. We have lost some valuable and spirited efforts of these former members ?– what a shame.

Mr. Lange has no ability to delegate. Case in Point: The replanting of the NS monuments. Mr. Lange had the opportunity to utilize the services, at no cost to the NSNA, of a professional
landscaper who was a member of the NSNA. Mr. Lange did not even have the courtesy of calling this member, but chose to spearhead the project himself.

He perpetrated the monuments of his design on us to the tune of $3,000 per square foot! Each monument was $27,000 - this is outrageous. A fancy two-car garage can easily be built for this price.

In the past, Steve Lange has been vehemently opposed to 4th Street businesses encroaching into the neighborhood. Two particular cases come to mind: Discount Auto and Amoco. I question the sudden change of heart on the CVS encroachment. Could there be some underlying sinister reason
for this new position?

Mr. Lange must go as he no longer represents the best interests of the NSNA. He has breached his fiduciary responsibility to the NSNA.

There has been too much Steve Lange control over this Association for too long! Let?’s become a more democratic and proud association.

Sincerely,

Great observation!

I, too have been in your situation in living in the neighborhood way over 10 years and also participation in the association. You are absolutely right in saying that Mr. Lange turned alot of people off just as he is doing now. Our association has grown tremendously over the past few years but as i see it now, you will see membership drop if he stays in office.

Your case in point is so true- add to that when I know of several people volunteered to take over the landscaping project and he said, NO, he was going to head that committee. Notice that he is never just on the committee, he is always the head- his way or no way.

I will certainly keep your name and if I ever decide to participate again, once Steve is OUT- then I will call you so that we can once again be an association without lies and deceptions.
well said

Mr. Frye, I never used to pay attention to the association until a few years ago. I have had the same experiences as you I am sorry to say. And the monuments have been an embarrassment to many of us for years. Thanks for pointing that out. As I recall we all voted to approve a special assessment for neighborhood improvements and the $$$ went to those big monuments.

By Owner since early '80s
Thank you

Thank you Mr. Frye for speaking out and having the courage to sign your name.

I was one of those people all excited to get involved, only to be
"squashed". I do not have the courage to sign my name because......
well its not important. But thank you.
