An open letter from Frankly

Listen up boys and girls,
It's your dear old Uncle Frankly with another frank discussion we need to have. Now, before I begin this, I need to say that I am not putting others down for what they say and do. Nor am I criticizing anyone. I simply want to speak my mind about some recent talk on the chat.

First off, anyone who has read anything here knows I calls it as I sees it. Others may not agree with me, and I don't mind - nor will I ever mind - getting into verbal fisticuffs with any of youns. I even like to start it. I like being one mean s.o.b. Nor do I always attempt to make sense. So?
However, I do ask that we all pause and reflect on where we draw the line on what we say and what we perfer not to say. It is an individual choice.

As for myself, as I said, I like being one mean s.o.b. However, I hope I haven't and I don't intend to make a joke out of another's age, nationality, accent, sex, weight, appearance, intelligence, race, sexual orientation, and similar things. As Uncle Frankly sees it, there are things people make choices about, and those are, in my world, open game for ridicule. However, I do draw a line at the things that people don't chose - things that define them as the unique, beautiful people they are. I wish I could explain my position on this in a way that others could read it an say, ''Oh, I understand. I can see your point. I agree with you'' I can't explain it as eloquently as I wish I could.

Again, I'm not putting down the people (or person) who are (is) making humor of any of these things. I'm not telling them to stop it. But I'm asking that we all must consider the lines that we draw between what is right and what is wrong in what we say. If you got no lines, that's ok by me - just ask the question as you write.

Enough of this babbling from mean old Uncle Frankly. Now, where is the bfry? I need to kick some butt.

Happy trails,
Frankly
