Walgreens is planning to build a 15,000 square foot store at the corner of Argyle Forest Blvd and Rampart Road. Filed on Sep 18, 2002. Planning & Development Dept Sign-Off Date: Oct 7, 2002.

Public Hearings will be held on:
City Council: Tues, Nov 26, 2002 6:30 pm
Planning Commission: Wed, Nov 27, 2002 2:00 pm
Land Use & Zoning Meeting: Wed, Dec 3, 2002 4:30 pm

We agree to have Walgreens.

We feel our neighborhood to agree to have Walgreens build the building and provide pharmacy, etc. for our area without going onto Blanding Boulevard. Those who oppose this are trying to keep things as they are. Unfortunately, this business will be built and open so why not agree and have some input to Walgreens and welcome them to our neighborhood.

Areas Designated for Commercial

Thank you for your comments regarding the proposed changes to the neighbors surrounding the intersection of Rampart Road and Argyle Forest Blvd.

Input to the City officials is exactly what the AACC is about. We, of course, have no official roll in government.

There are areas specifically designated for the development of commercial out building such as this, less than one and two miles away. There would be no need to go on Blanding Blvd.

Imagine, if you will, that the lake near the entrance for Highland Lakes and your beautiful home were to be filled in and a Walgreens built there.

Would this enhance the value of your property?
Would you sleep better at night?
Would your security be increased?
Would it improve the character and beauty of your neighborhood?

We live across the street from the Spirit store. The lights, boom boxes, squealing tires, and beeping horns does not improve our quality of
life.

The AACC is most eager to see progress. Not all change is progress. We are concerned that this is a return to ''spot zoning.''

very surprised

I was very surprised to learn that Walgreen's and the Sleiman group have decided to pursue the building of this new store despite the almost overwhelming sentiment of those present at the AACC August meeting.

We already have terrible traffic problems, too-late road construction to try to ''catch up'' to the traffic problems that the developers and the city have caused, and now those problems are going to be compounded even more. What will go in next to the Walgreen's?? Something will, you can rest assured.

I feel sorry for the residents who live in that area. Development of this type needs to be confined to the areas that are already zoned commercial. We already have three establishments nearby where we can get our prescriptions filled. This Walgreen's is not needed!!
