Walgreens @ Argyle Bvd & Rampart

WE DON'T WANT/NEED WALGREEN'S

To Whom it may consern,

I am opposed to the Walgreen's planned for Argyle Blvd. and Rampart.

Firstly, as Argyle residents, we don't need it. There is an Eckerd's Pharmacy less than 3 miles from the location. A Publix Pharmacy less than 2 miles from the location and a Winn-Dixie Pharmacy less than two miles from the location in the opposite direction.

Secondly, that intersection is already conjested enough. Placing any Commercial Business there will only cause more trafic headaches and accidents.

Thank you for the opportunity to voice my opinion.

We agree to have Walgreens???

By your rationale the little guy never wins and should give up anyway? You don't need to go to Blanding to get your prescriptions - WinnDixie has a pharmacy. The fact is that land is zoned for residential use. Period. I'm not so sure you'd feel the same if it was going up in your front yard. It will generate a greater traffic flow and adversly affect the character of our neighborhood. That junction is busy enough as it is. So yes, I do want to keep things as they are. Your convenience of having to drive 2 minutes less will be at the expense of mine and my neighbors enjoyment of our homes and neighborhood we cherish.
We do not need a Walgreens

I agree that the traffic problem is serious enough and believe that road improvements should be completed before thinking about new commercial construction, especially when we are already saturated with pharmacies and have no need for the walgreen's. I'm sure there will be more than enough new commercial construction at the other end of Argyle to keep anyone from having to go to Blanding if they choose not to.

I am concerned that this will be another situation where the homeowners are given a chance to voice our opinions only after the decisions have been made.

couple of issues with store ...

I think putting a store there would be a mistake as well. I don't live near that intersection but since the newest stretch of Argyle Forest Bv was put in (many months ago) I have to fiddle with my blinds in order to NOT get light hitting me in the eyes when I try to go to sleep at night. They were overzealous with street lights in this area while the rest of AFB lacks them - go figure. Don't get me wrong - lights are good but why so many? You could have a football game out there at night! Amyway, Walgreens will most likely cause the same glare at night for those folks whose homes surround it. Furthermore, otherwise sane people are driving like ''daredevils'' on AFB because the traffic is so bad. They zip out of neighborhoods (like Highland Lakes, Sutter's Mill, etc) onto AFB often cutting people off because otherwise they can't get out - yes its THAT bad in the morning rush hour. Only those who commute this road daily (esp during rush hours) fully understand how treacherous it is. This new store will only create another source of daredevil behaviour during morning and afternoon rush hour - and you know what that means...
