Recently I drove down Southpoint Parkway (JTB to Belfort to traffic light at hospital) and noticed the effort put into landscaping. I couldn't help but think about the upcoming Kernan widening and what that will look like for the next 5, 10, 15 or more years.
There will be a town meeting in the next couple of months. I was wondering what others thought about the importance of school crossings, traffic calming, and landscaping for this project.
I'd very much like to see transitional landscaping scenarios ... more oaks, shade trees, pines in the residential segments of Kernan and then more contemporary around commercial and professional areas. Think this variety would also help to calm traffic in what will inevitably become a more population-intense area.
Thoughts, anyone?
