I am just shocked and appalled by all these nasty messages to neighbors for posting their viewpoints.

You Misquoted Me

Come on now - your posts should never misquote others!! Remember the TOS.

I never said anything about walking in groups BEFORE dark!!!

Your parents probably told you this OLD ''Common Sense'' rule which expresses the same thing I just said above:

1) Walk before dark (ALONE if you want to).
2) AFTER dark - don't walk alone.

Since you know all about how ''penny-ante'' punks operate (what ever they are), PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS:

Why has there been less than 1 break-in per year in our huge neighborhood over the past 25 years? AND NOT A SINGLE assault on a walker or runner. Believe me after 25 years here, we have heard about it when it happened.

In the past 25 years ?– maybe 7 or 8 break-ins - and no assaults except family members fighting each other. That is an outstanding safety record.

ONCE AGAIN READ THIS:

Go to Portland or Rangeland and ask the residents how much street lights ''helped'' after they were put in. That is exactly when the kids, gangbangers and punks started hanging out all night, and walking the streets!!!!

NOTE:
1) Homes with motion sensor lighting, timers, which are user controlled and non-intrusive, or maybe a dog or an alarm are protected extremely well.

Come On Now

NO one said to stay in after dark.

The poster simply remided us to use a little common sense. He/she said to walk alone before dark if you want to. But after dark, it has never been a good idea to walk alone. This isn't rocket science here folks, and he/she never said to stay inside. Let's be fair when replying to commnets here.

Sounds calm here ro me - unless expressing an opinion other than not wanting streetligts is somehow wrong.
