The structures that make the playground a well-used feature of McKinley Park are 10 years old now and need renovation. Completed October 9, 1994 by volunteers using donated materials and equipment, the playground is beginning to show some age. MENA volunteers played a key role in building the playground then and now Board member Steve Swindel is leading MENA?’s project to renovate it.
Steve says there are a number of features that are custom add-ons and are not reflected on the original plans. Some of these features have been damaged through the years and we want to return them to their original condition. But, we need to know what that original condition was. Any pictures would be especially appreciated. Once the plans are finalized we will schedule a work day to make the necessary repairs and restore the playground to "good as new" condition. Contact Steve @ 457-2772 days and/or 492-1884 evenings if you have old photos of the playground and/or want to help on this project.
