Thanks for that information. I understand that I am in a floodplain and that's why I have flood insurance. I just hope that yesterday's event is the worst that I will see as long as I live here. Unfortunately I don't think that will be the case.

If history holds true it will not be the last. I hate to say that.......the county seems to think since your in the floodplain you have no relief options but to buy insurance. I know a couple of residents requested to be bought out in the past. I just heard on WCNC that the county has no funds left for buying properties.
Matter of fact they are getting ready to do a story on this flooding problem at 6 pm. My advise is make sure anyone living along the stream/creek make sure that if you see anything blocking the stream you call 311 at once. This will at least minimize any water backing up due to blockage during heavy rains. 311 normally has city investigate and if it is in the county system they will alert the county.
That said I did get his message today from councilmen Dulin.
Hello Marty, Meeting Jeb Blackwell head of engineering at 4:15 on site. I will not let this get by without answers and help. Andy
In the past this has really not resulted in much more than I posted in previous post. Will have to see what results from this meeting. |

IF you missed this story another story with answers from county and city storm is suppose to air at 11:00 pm tonight. |
