That is terrible.  It is one thing to be in the flood plain...but if your flooding and not in the flood plain that is even worse.   Of course some in the flood plain state they were not when they purchases their homes back in the 70s.

It is just bad any way you look at it for people to have to put up with this on an ongoing basis.

Sorry for your problems and everyone else that is having to deal with this over the many years.

It really does not look like there is an answer to correct this flooding problem but a possible buyout one day.

The Queens Sports Complex is nice....but I must wonder if that water in part is contributing to the water backing up so bad in that Wedgewood, Montford, Mockingbird area.  It is my understanding that the complex was built in part in the flood plain.  They are currently at phase II completion with all phases having to be completed by 2015.  It might not have any effect but the water has to go somewhere.   I have seen pictures taken by neighbors of the flooding water that occurs in the woods down behind Seneca Place from water dumping out of large pipes under the all purpose field.  Those pictures have always been forwarded to Park and Recreation and Queens to evaluate.

Some residents were concerned when phase II of the South Blvd. Storm Water was completed it would make things worse for folks West of the bridge.  I am not sure that has happened....but that area certainly has not seen any improvement.
