Theft from cars on Ivy

Thanks for your suggestion/opinion and I am also glad it is a free speach country.

It seems to me that it is just a little easier to get into an unlocked door than it is to pop a locked door or break a window.

Maybe not always, but maybe sometimes it would draw attention to see someone working to pop the lock or breaking a window. Plus not everyone looking into cars knows how to pop a lock.

I feel better locking my car. You feel better leaving your car unlocked.
Locked Cars

I am kinda like the others leaving my car unlocked most of the time. I have nothing in it of value, not fancy stereo system, no fancy tires/rims, nothing in trunk, etc. I figure that is what I have insurance for. Saves me the trouble of cleaning up all the broken glass. With over 130,000 miles and nothing fancy about my little ride, take it PLEASE!!!
Locked Cars & Dead Batteries

One of my friends in Cooper Young started leaving her car unlocked after replacing several windows.

Then, the criminals just left the door open after not finding anything in order to avoid waking anybody by shutting the door. The next morning, my friend woke up to a dead battery! Either way, you are out money/time :)
Re: Locked Cars & Dead Batteries

Yikes,
Next time just let your friend borrow some jumper cables.
Most of the time when people leave their doors open on the car, it only temporarily cripples the battery.
Usually hooking up some jumper cables will do the trick.
Never heard of someone leaving their door open for one night and it completely ruining the car battery.
Wow, They just don't make em like they used to.
