Impound & Pump Structure Repairs

Posted in: Interlochen Home
Just wanted to keep everyone up to date on progress or lack of it on our project. The engineering of the repair work has been completed and has been approved as far as I know by the City of Arlington. We have submitted the plans back to our contractor for an updated bid and we are awaiting his reply. Once we get the bid back and if acceptable, we will meet with the city, finalize the three way contract that is required by the city, and schedule the work. As you can tell we are moving toward our target , not a fast as some of us would like, but we are making progress.

Thanks,

Larry M. Glover
Update on Project

Just wanted to update everyone on the progess of the project. As you know the canal is down. This was done to keep the water off the construction workers as they located the inflow line in the canal, lined it with the new 21'' PVC pipe, etc. Today they grouted cement around the lined pipe, and tomorrow they will start rebuilding the valve, putting back the pump, rebuilding the stucture in the impound and completing the project. Things have gone reasonably well, but we incurred additional work that we had not planned on and possibly we will incure a little more before we are finished. Hopefully it will only be another couple of weeks. For a current update, Please attend our annual meeting Monday 1-14-2002 at the Armory.

Ps. The dues statements that were sent out had some mistakes on them I was told, and they will be remailed as soon as possible. Sorry for the mistake.
