that there were so many things to attend to after our return home from our wedding. We are still in the process of taking care of this but I have some time to post tonight.

There was some discussion about the Button Factory Restaurant and Woodfire Grill as a business seemingly going downhill. I just want to add to this from my personal experience.

When we came back into town, we decided to have dinner at the Woodfire Grill which ended in a total disaster. I won't delve into all the details but the food was bad and the service was awful. My wife's dinner was okay but the Shrimp dinner I had was not fit to eat. When asked how everything was, I pointed out to the waitress I was not happy with my dinner. I should have sent it back or called for the manager but I did not. I ate as much as I could and then waited for our check and something to put my wife's dinner in. We eventually just got up and walked out to the entrance and voiced our displeasure to the hostess, paid for our dinners and left.

The next day I wrote a letter to them about our experience there and we have not heard one thing from them. We will never eat there again.

If you want all the gory details just email me.

Button Factory

LionJack,
My wife and I have been frequent visitors to the Button Factory (nicest place in town). Having said that, we were there last week. The service was slow (had reservations), and, they were busy to start with. They forgot the mushrooms that I had ordered for my filet mignon. They gave us paper napkins, rather than the cloth ones that they used to use. We heard a lot of plates/glass breaking while we were there (hopfully not somebody's dinner). I agree, it appears to be going down hill. But then again, where else do you go? Holiday Inn? Pricey/average food/no patrons, or Applebee's? Always crowded (like the BF), pricey, same old menue (gets old)! Unfortunately we eat out a lot, so it gets harder when you frequent these places a lot. Won't go to the QCA, too long of a trip just to eat out. IF we're going up there for a reason, then, it's no question as to where we'll eat.

restaurants

The last few visits to The Button Factory have been very disappointing. I prefer Applebee's (where at least I know I'll consistently get good food and service), but we often go to either the Quad Cities or Iowa City.

I just hate to spend my hard-earned money on what I think is going to be a nice night out and end up wishing I would have just gone to Steak & Shake instead.

So, if I had to choose a place to eat here in town, my first choice would be Applebee's. I would exchange that with Pizza Ranch depending on what I was hungry for. Pizza Ranch is immaculately clean, has great food and service, and if they served a decent ribeye, I'd go there all the time.

Mostly, we just go to Davenport or Iowa City...more choices anyway!

Fondly,
Lil

I think

the button Factory is not all that great. I have been there several times and I have not had one good time what so ever. The food is not that great, the prices are high and the service is bad. If I am going to pay good money for dinner it better be worth every penny. I too go to Davenport for dinner. I love Bud's Skyliner over by the airport it is great.
