Excelrnt idea. Maybe we could find a local store that would like to be the collection site. We could make two types of donations used childrens books and new books. We could also ask grade school kids to donate 2 cents to a fund to buy the highest donating school some new books!

Does anybody know the owners of the bookstore downtown? If so, do you think they might be willing to be a collection site?
