understand about mu MIL actually my step MIL..she was abusive to my husband and his siblings all their lives, doing things to them that would get you 20 years in jail these days..shes vidictive, hateful and just loves to create trouble, and I am so glad that my husband came out of all that as great as he is..the thing is we stay away from her yet she creates problems that sometimes are hard to be ignored. she mails us hateful letters, calls us, and comes up to us in public spewing her venom..so we just want her out of our lives..thanks for posting back everyone, I guess i still have the worst MIL in the neighborhood!!!

Have you ever considered a no contact order?
It can be done by the county attorney or your attorney if you produce the hate mail. They can also get her telephone records, both cell and land line to verify the calls.
I had a family member that was accused of making calls of this nature. After they gave their phone records to the county attorney proving they had not made the calls it was all over.
By the way I had a great mother in law (Bless her soul) that treated me like a son and I will always have a place in my heart for her.

I wasnt going to visit or post anymore. But I just wanted to say, I'm thinking of you all this season.
But you can't have the worst MIL. I did! Shortly after I was married she stole my watch that was a gift from my new husband that matched our matching wedding rings. My new husband and I got in a huge fight because I Thought I saw her pocket something. I had memorised the serial numb. It was the same as the fire departments phone numb. Years later When she was showing me stuff in her jewelry box I discovered my watch. Reciting the cereal number to her husband and mine I was told it was just a coincidence!
Stealing is her sickness. From a year supply of birth control pills to feed her dog. To steeling my kids underwear because it had Mickey Mouse on them. She stole anything she wanted. I once gave her a picture of my children with Santa. She stole mine. Not wanting me to have one.
Her Mother was worse. she stole my first son once. He was playing in the fenced in back yard. My baby cried so I stepped five feet in the back door to pick him up, she motioned him out of my view lifted him over the locked fence and took him to her house. I walked all over the town of Lone Tree calling him and bawling and carrying my baby. To stunned and to naive I didn't know what to do I ended up three hours later at HER house. There was my son. She told me she was going to have him taken away from me because I was an unfit mother. I abandon him in the back yard. This was just the beginning of 16 years of trouble with her. When she hung herself. Some how her daughter (my MIL) blamed me. MIL was always bad with her mouth in very painful hurtful ways. She has hurt frazzled and son so bad they despise her. I wish we were all free of her but her pain is still there even after I divorced her son. There is not a good memory of her ever in over 34 years. When she was living with us and I was supporting 8 of us on $3.20 an hour. I was the only one working I bought me kids a treat on payday. A rare occasion. I bought A candy bar and split it between the 3 of my kids. She pouted so bad that I didn't buy HER one just for her, that her husband walked a mile into town picking up pop cans.
I could exchange stories about the two *itches all week. But just to help you. If you believe she is a danger to you and yours take whatever action you need to do to protect yourselves. I wish you the best of luck. Be careful.
