LOTS of children, enjoy a whole new world! I went on a field trip w/ my grandaughters to Circa 21. The play was ''A Christmas Carol''. The play was awesome! The reaction I saw & heard from many of the kids that had never been was a memory I'll take to my grave!
If you need a lift, grab a child, listen to them & look @ life through their eyes. While touring the very eloquent building before the play, one child looked up @ me and said, ''this is the best place I have ever been to in my whole entire life!'' We were seated, the buffet was about to begin. While we waited our turn, we went over the ''printed handout''. We pointed out actors, set directors, light crew, etc. on that program & explained all. They couldn't wait!
It was magical, for them & for me. I had the gift of watching a whole new world of opportunity open up to another generation. After the show, the children were able to get autograughs from the actors. Many were beside themselves. Priceless & hard to explain. I wonder if a teacher feels this gift when a student looks up in wonder & says, ''I understand''?

Tlou, you also

gave the kids a gift...your time and attention. There is no greater gift a person can give to younsters that the gift of their time. Watching youngsters as they make discoveries will fill your heart and warm your soul. All you have to do is watch.... just a bit..... your world suddenlly seems to brighten. Go0od stuff Tlou.......It is my greatest hope that all adults will give just a bit of time to younsters. What a place our world would be if we just take care of the kids.

I LOVE taking kids to Circa! (or any other theater). In today's world of movies/computers/video, it's so cool to watch a child as they see some of their favorite stories performed live.

My daughter is 16 now, and still remembers when we went to Circa when she was in 2nd grade to see Jack & The Beanstalk. The whole cast came to the lobby to meet the kids, and The Giant was truly a giant!

Great experience for both kids and adults, and I think it helps keep live theater going!

Glad you shared...what a great story!

Speaking of gifts

do you realize there will be many underprivileged children, mostly black, some hispanic, hardly any white, that won't be able to experience the warmth and wonder of Christmas this year? Why? Because George W. Bush doesn't care about black people! George W. Bush only marginally cares about hispanic people. Only the ones that are married into his family. Bush ain't got time for white trash with no money neither.

Peace. Out.
