live with it
Ripleys is just in a bad location. Right off of city limits. Speed limit 65 is normal just out of city limits on such a highway. And the ''slower trafic stay right'' sign is also normal just when you speed up on a highway. Nothing to do but live with it.

Like Sammy says
I can't drive 55!
When in your vehicle spend less time on your cell phone, less time applying your eye make-up, and less time worrying about your 19 year old daughter who is now one year over the age of majority, and find something else to complain about like the potholes in WalMart's parking lot or how the liberals are going to ruin the country. Something of substance and a little less trite.
I am the Toast of the Town.

Live with it
Seems to be the concensus. There is a conspiracy amongst us. People scream for better fuel mileage, the car industry builds them, oil companies don't sell enough gas, oil companies lobby for increased speeds to hasten fuel consumption...safety always takes second place to convenience and the almighty dollar...and by the way...the pope killed Kennedy.

I could be wrong, but
doesn't the speed limit increase (going out of Muscatine) before you get to some of the neighborhood turns just outside the city? I don't go that way too often, so I really don't remember.
If so, you might be better off addressing your concerns with the Iowa DOT, as most of us don't have any say in establishing speed-limits, we just try to obey them.
When the sign goes from 55 to 65, most of us are going to speed up a bit. If you think the increase to 65 should be further beyond a particular neighborhood, then you really should try to do something about it.
