You hit the nail on the head when you said the younger generation lacks imagination. I can't count all the games we made up as kids. My cousin ''invented'' a baseball game he played when he was alone. No electronic equipment needed, just a stick and a pile of pebbles.
Todays kids are being brainwashed into being nearly zombies.

Boredom

I just do not understand it as I am way to busy enjoying life.
Try it as you will have plenty of time to be bored after life is over.
