I have to admit, I was nervous about coming to this site tonight & seeing my responses to Chosens post. I expected to be made fun of, jokes & put downs. The posts were quite the opposite. Thanks to all who posted.
You guys are awesome, you showed your allegience to our town and to this site. United we can all stand.
I love the jokes posted & have laughed & shared many of them! I appreciate reading what is important to others in our town, locally & nationally.
It frustrates me TO NO END when I read a heartfelt post, then read replies that don't address the original post. The answers @ times are hurtful, demeaning & many times have absolutely nothing to do with the original post. They are words that are meant to hurt.
I have a question that is real? Why would anyone post under different names? You are who you are. Don't you believe in your own convictions? Why would you want to change your identity? I don't get it. I really don't. I'm tlou. I care about our town. I want this town to be the best it can be so that my children & grandchildren can grow up & declare with pride, that they grew up in Muscatine. A beautiful, river town with old fashioned values, that protected them & instilled values that will make them the beautiful souls they can be. ''It takes a village, (a neighborhood?) to raise a child''.
Some of our children are reading these posts. So are people that are thinking about moving to our town. Then again, there are many that live in our town that need support, would like to contribute, but are afraid to, because of the negative jabs.
What do we want to portay to our own children & to the world? What is this board about? My ''pie in the sky wish?'' We have people that have the time & care enough to share what is happening the world with us. THANK YOU! There are some that want to share humor; to help us remember to laugh. THANK YOU!
Can we think positive? I do & I think this board could be that way as well.

Your beliefs

are so close to what I use to feel. I wish you and others nothing but the best. I will always be around, but I need a break.

Peace

stay strong, chosen

I haven't had to deal with the hurt I'm guessing you have dealt with on this board. I'm guessing it hurts to have your neighbors beat you up for your opinions. I'm sorry you feel this way.
Do what you need to do to get strong again; to feel the need & desire to try & make a difference. Your words gave ME the strength to speak out on this board. I was feeling frustrated @ what I was reading. I was afraid of the repurcussions that might happen if I spoke out.
When you wrote what you did in your original post, I found someone who shared what I was feeling. The bullies might take over the playground, Chosen. If they do, then what?! C'mon...we think alike. You feel like giving up tonight. You have much to contribute here. REALLY WANNA GIVE UP? NAH!
You don't have to feel the need to fight back, or even respond to the negative feedback. You are better than that! Respond to the awesome & funny people that are here. ''One bad apple...'' You know the phrase. WHY ON EARTH do we want to give the bad apple all the power? THERE are a whole lot of good apples in the bunch! They want to hear from you! They care about what happens to you & me. They care about our opinions. They may not agree, but there are a heck of a lot of people that know how to disagree in a kind way! Maybe they are a bit nervous about voicing their opinion! Make them feel safe?!
''YOUR MISSION, SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT''... (Am I showing my age?) LOL!
lol

he eggs things on, he could just click on the next message and ignore all the ''mean messages'' to him, but I think deep down, he enjoys it.

as far as this whole playground bully thing, when I was growing up, I begged the bullies to pick on me, know why? it meant they were leaving someone else alone.

so, come on, throw me some insults will ya? it'll make me feel loved.

p.s. I have like 12 different names on here. want me to list them?

too bad :D

see ya, wouldnt wanna be ya!
