Miss Iowa And Herman
I understand your points of view relating to illegal immigration. It is a big problem, actually a monumental problem because individuals in the immigration dept did not do their jobs.
It seems to me that we often ask the ''Feds'' for help with some of state problems. We have city, county, state and national plus international laws. Laws are made to be broken and there are enough criminals out their to tax our system of justice into complete bankruptsy but laws must be enforced. Iowa is a part of the United States and our laws should complement our nationals laws. We should be willing to do whatever is necessary to fix this problem no matter what the costs. So yes, I am willing to share some of this burden and I want law enforcement to do their jobs---uphold all of our laws and not pick and choose.
I am aware of a business in the United States that takes a large bus into Mexico to pick up workers to come into the US. The Mexican and United States governments are aware of this and it is approved. These workers are taken to a location where they are paid to work for a specific period of time. At the conclusion of their work period, the bus returns and takes them back into Mexico. This type of arrangement could be done all over our nation and be legal.
As far as local law enforcement goes, i hate to say it but when are they going to start enforcing traffic laws. I know we have a good police dept. but they could do a lot better.
