you r not whining, ''anonymous''
HELP ME OUT HERE, WHY do people post, ''anonymous''? Your name shows up after, anyway. I don't get it. If you have something to say, Stand up & say it. Under Author: put in your pen name & own what you say!
You ARE stating a fact! I am not in the job market right now. I have 2 adult children desperately trying to find a job in this town with decent wages & benefits. Those jobs are NOT to be found! To find a ''full-time job'', you need to go through ''Temp Services.''
If you are a temp worker, (which is what most of our factories & companies use today), you are paid a minimal amount of money, with no job security, no benefits, etc. Our companies LOVE it because they don't have to pay Social Security, Unemployment, etc.
They rake in the money while the workers they ''employ'', (through temp services), provide the sweat. It's a WIN-WIN situation for MANAGEMENT, & a LOSE-LOSE situation for the rest of us.
A temp worker has NO vested interest, no loyalty to the company that has hired them. That might be ok for some employers. Ask yourselves this question? Our factories, (some with very unstable chemicals, or areas that need some sort of ''expertise'' to keep us all SAFE from a very dangerous situation), are letting valuable, knowledgable & loyal employees go, because they are, ''too expensive''. Temp workers are cheap. Again, no vested interest, no experience...paid a minimal amt. of money, (no benefits).
My husband worked many years for one of our factories. His exact words to me were that he refused to work one more day to put money in the pocket of the person who took charge. The seasoned workers called the temp workers the, ''89 day wonders''. They were there for 89 days & layed off. WHY? After 90 days, the company needed to pay benefits, etc. I absolutely agreed with him, he had to leave. The writing was on the wall.
If you are a temp worker, you may get a ''regular paycheck'', for a while. You cannot get credit or a loan, if you are a ''temp worker''. WHAT?!
My son-in-law has worked his tail off, FULL TIME...through a temp agency, for a while now. His company & the temp agency makes money, he brings home a ''mere percentage'' of that money to his family? Something has to be changed. How & where I'm not sure. Somewhere & Somehow we have to take a stand & figure it out, not accept the ''way the world is''.
My husband & I have said, many times, Thank God we are not starting out today. The ''haves'' continue to prosper, while others struggle to make ends meet, worry about where to get the money to pay Dr. bills because of an illness. It's NOT FAIR OR OK!
There are other posters here that are my age. We have seen better times. If we unite & yell loud enough, can't we make a difference? I'd sure like to try!
